A Word Of Caution To Spiritual Leaders Pt. 2

“To ignore the present need to mentor our families in the following fundamental areas; Identity, mindset, prayer, culture, worship, vision, service and giving, will result in the loss of the fabric needed to build a better Christ-centered believer in the present millennium.”

This is the conclusion of last month's Blog. I truly believe this is a word to be taken seriously and in need of your attention. If you are a spiritual leader assigned to build the present or the “Remnant Generation,” I urge you to carefully read the whole counsel of this 2-part Blog.

I said that in 2012 when I wrote the book “Mentoring Winners”, I had heard clearly from the Lord about bringing the topic of mentoring to the forefront of the spiritual conversation of the Body of Christ. Mentoring or “Fathering,” which is another way of addressing this topic, is perhaps the most transcendental role of apostles and apostolic people.

One of the key elements, which is playing a fundamental component in this equation, has been the election of Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States. I am of the firm belief that such event has come to expose the vivid form of the spiritual soul of America. Since his election we have witnessed an uprising of people all over this land with their twisted, self-centered views and extreme concepts and ideas concerning God and country. In the same manner, this reality has also come to expose the frailty and weakening deterioration of our soul as a Church.

In my estimation, this was needed so we, The Church, could see not only our real spiritual condition, but also to witness the rising of a true Remnant of believers. This new breed are the ones who will confront the big Goliath of our time. It is not an imaginary giant it is as real as the daylight of every day. Its embedded in the dominant issues of our culture, politics and every other aspect of life in our land. I can say that a pre-season of the perennial Last Days expression of old has begun. The separation of the real fruit from the chaff is now being activated.

I listed the following fundamental areas needed to be the focus of true spiritual leaders. These characteristics will be used by Father God to exercise this separation. There will be those who when confronted with this defying giant, will be separated. He will say the same thing He said about a young unknown and probably ill-equipped warrior like David.

“I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.” -Acts 13:22

  • Identity

  • Mindset

  • Prayer

  • Culture

  • Worship

  • Vision

  • Service

Giving: In the previous Blog I covered Identity, Mindset, Prayer, Worship and Culture. Let me now conclude this 2 Blog series by outlining the rest of them beginning with Worship.

Worship: Singing is worship but is not all there is to worship. “True worship is defined by the priority we place on who God is in our lives and where God is on our list of priorities.”

-Delesslyn A. Kennebrew The book of Psalms is a testament of David’s kind of worship. But it is not only poetic writing. We find David dancing like a top among the people of Israel.

"Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.” -2 Samuel 6:16

This event speaks of his public life. When was the last time that you uelanced before the Lord in front of your friends and co-workers? We are supposed to daily worship God with our lives.

Vision: We are to motivate our children with a vision of God’s kingdom. This is the greatest inheritance a father can give to his children. Make no mistake about it. It’s not a Harvard or Yale education. It wouldn’t hurt if you do but this is not it. Nor is silver and gold; being poor is not a premium in life but having riches is not it either. Leaving a heritage that empowers them to have a personal relationship with Father God through His Son Jesus Christ is the greatest gift you can leave behind for them.

“What is the profit of man For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

-Matthew 16:26

Service: “And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the Lord your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 then I[f] will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil. And I will send grass in your fields for your livestock, that you may eat and be filled.” -Deuteronomy 11:13-15

“Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 19 You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth.

-Deuteronomy 11:18-21

Study the life of David and you will find he had the heart of a servant. Since his childhood, he was always willing to lay his life for others. He was a shepherd boy. He was serving his brothers when he found himself right in front of his destiny, confronting Goliath. He served the people of Israel as their king and God’s testimony about him was that he was a man after his own heart. You and I will find our God ordained destiny by serving others. Teach this to your children.

Giving: David lived for God’s people. We are to live our lives by pouring everything God has giving us to others. Paul said:

"serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears and trials which happened to me by the plotting of the Jews; how I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house,”

-Acts 20:19-20

Giving is the most rewarding gift available to man. Learn to give generously and you will find the key to living a joyful life. For God so loved the world that He gave His life for you and me. Giving is the essence of Father God.

I can resume all I have said in this Blog in the following expression:

“Mentor your children with these principles and we will build a better world.”
