The Challenge of Putting Humpty Dumpty Back Together Again…

“Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law.” -Proverbs 29:18

I came to this country in 1969. I’ve never been so troubled as a believer as I am today. Keep in mind I’ve been preaching and teaching the Word of God for over 40 years. The Bible speaks of wars and rumors of wars. Although this can be taken literally, considering what’s going on in the Middle east, Venezuela, Yemen and Africa. The war that is getting more intense by the minute is the battle of ideas tearing up the fabric of our society as we know it.

The character of Humpty Dumpty was popularized in the United States by actor George L. Fox (1825–77). As a character and literary allusion, he has appeared or been referred to in a large number of works of literature and popular culture, particularly English author Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking-Glass (1872), in which he was described as an egg. (Wikipedia)

"Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall; All the King's horses And all the King's men,

Couldn't put Humpty together again."

America is no longer what it used to be. It reminds me of the days when there was no king in Israel. “In those days, everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” -Judges 21:25 It seems like the righteous voices of old are nowhere to be found. It’s incredible! A young lady with only 29 years age, a bartender, has risen from nothing gained a seat in the House, and all of a sudden, her voice is shouting out over every voice of wisdom in this country. The concept of infanticide its being raised and its beginning to run rampant in the halls of State legislatures to validate its practice. Just yesterday a bill introduced by congressman Benjamin Sasse of Nebraska. designed to protect babies after birth was defeated. It’s an outrage! Today a high school student is fighting her school because she decided to wear a MAGA hat. They’re saying the hat induces violence. Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall…we need to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

How can we begin the process of putting the right pieces together? It’s a great task, but not an impossible one; like in the days of the Judges. The Lord faithfully continued to show His faithfulness to His covenant every time His people repented and turned from their evil ways. The Lord always forgave them and raised up Spirited-empowered leaders to deliver them from their oppressors.

Our Lord is the righteous judge. We need to believe for the Lord to raise young men and young ladies full of the Spirit of God all over this great land of ours. Let’s pray for that young lady who is right now fighting her school for her liberty to wear whatever hat she may feel to wear. Let’s believe for the Lord to raise young men like Gideon. Like Samson. Perhaps not with the supernatural strengths he demonstrated. But, full of the Spirit and wisdom of God to turn down everything that rises against the concept of Who God is in today’s society. The same Holy Spirit that equipped Samson to do exploits can raise young people to carry out extraordinary deeds. We are confronting evil times, but our God is the same yesterday today and forever. Stand up for righteousness wherever you are called to serve.
